Description

Police are launching a week-long amnesty to encourage those in possession of knives to surrender them anonymously.
Beginning on Monday (April 26), ‘knife bins’ will be located at police stations across County Durham and Darlington. The national campaign, titled ‘Operation Sceptre’, aims to reduce the number of bladed articles that might otherwise be used in crime.
The bins will be situated at local police stations in Darlington, Bishop Auckland, Durham City and Peterlee, although knives can be surrendered at any station across the county, or by calling 101.
