Cockton Hill Infant School in Bishop Auckland celebrated its 110th Birthday on Wednesday 27th February. An open day was held for parents and former pupils to visit the school and share their memories.
An impressive display of artefacts, old documents and photographs allowed those present to wallow in nostalgia whilst enjoying tea and biscuits.
The Headteacher of Cockton Hill Infants' School, Anne Graham, attended the school as a little girl and Anne's mother was a former Headteacher of the school herself.
I spoke with Assistant Head, Tom Cuthbertson, and met a former pupil of the school from 1948, John Sewell.
