John 14:1-14
With this message we conclude our series “Whom the Son Sets Free” by acknowledging that Jesus sets us “Free from Uncertainty”.
There are many in the church today who live their lives in uncertainty and dread because they have actually never believed and received the Gospel. Like the founder of our denomination, John Wesley, before his “Aldersgate Experience” (when he finally appropriated the Gospel and was granted an assurance of his salvation), they attend church, they try to be good and do good, but there is a nagging within that something is missing. They have no inner peace or assurance of their relationship with God. Sadly, many have sat in pews on Sunday morning for years and never been presented with the truth of the Gospel and therefore have not had the opportunity to adequately respond to it.
We live in a time of upheaval and chaos, but in the midst of it, God offers us peace. It is so important that people come to know that there is something they can hold on to. There truly is something that can give meaning to their lives. They need to know that in midst of all the confusion of this age the answer is found where it has always been. It is found in Jesus, Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. It is only through Him that we will ever have uncertainty banished from our lives and be set free indeed.
