1Samuel 3:1-20
I’m afraid that a lot of us have lost our hearing, and really aren’t hearing any more from God Himself.
Since the ’60s our nation has been losing its hearing. Back then We were told that we needed to cast off old, outdated ways of thinking and values, and basically, just quit feeling guilty about being immoral. This was the time of the sexual revolution, the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. It was the time to turn on, tune in, and drop out.
The God is dead theology that became popular at that time defined God as that voice in the back of our head that made us feel guilty when we said the d-word. We were told that we didn’t need to listen to that voice anymore.
I remember thinking at one point in my life, “Why doesn’t God make Himself known to us like He used to? If there was a God like a read about in the Bible, of course, I’d serve Him.”
Well, as I honestly dug into this, I made a tremendous discovery. He hasn’t changed at all, and He still speaks to us today just like He did in the Bible.
As it says in His Word, “He is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
We just need to have ears that are willing to hear, and eyes that are willing to see.
