2 Timothy 3:1-7

For the past 50 years the United Methodist Church has been struggling over an issue that was decided emphatically on the Cross over 2000 years ago.

Sin is taken seriously by God, and it should be taken seriously by us, as well. If it wasn’t important, Jesus wouldn’t have had to go to the Cross.

If you tell people who practice these things that they are okay, you are being a party to their damnation. You are lulling them into thinking there is no danger when their souls are in danger of hell fire.

The church cannot condone what Jesus died for, but it can let sinners know that Jesus has set them free.

That is what is at stake at this time---the souls of people.

It’s not about hating anyone. It’s about where people will spend eternity, and also the quality of life they will have in the here and now.
