Marks of a Christian: INTEGRITY
Psalm 15:1-5
For the Christian, integrity is the product of our union with God through Jesus Christ.
Too many Christians think that all God requires of us is a limited investment. “Just believe that Jesus died for your sins, call Him your Lord, count on His grace, and that’s it.”
They see it as being on the same level as joining some service organization where you agree to participate in the activities, but then you go on with “real life.”
You’re expected to contribute from time to time, and meet some minimum standards, and that’s it.
But true Christianity is not anything like being a member of an organization.
The Bible tells us that it’s like a marriage or an adoption. It changes our status in the world and our connection to God. There’s no time off or even needing some space for awhile. You are integrated. The Bible says you’re grafted into the vine. You are joined to God and to other Christians, and you bear the marks of the family.
And one of the marks is integrity.
