Luke 9:23-26
We are currently in a series called “Jesus Unfiltered.”
When the Father spoke at the time of Jesus’ transfiguration, He said, “This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him.”
In this series, we’re taking some well-known things that Jesus has said and trying to really listen to them anew and afresh without all the filters and glosses that have been implanted in our hearts and minds by our culture and environment.
Today we are looking at Jesus’ invitation to take up our cross daily and follow Him.
Think about this for a moment. Why did the Father send Jesus? To reveal the heart of God through His teaching, His death, and His resurrection. To invite us into the Kingdom of God, to open the door to the Kingdom through His death on the cross for our sins, and to rise again to offer us eternal life.
You see, The Cross was why He came into this world. When you take up your cross, you get to live the life that God created you for.
You get to live the life you were created to live, being the person you were created to be, and deep down have always wanted to be.
