Galatians 5:16-25
If you are a born-again Christian, you aren’t just any person— You have the divine nature that the Holy Spirit has planted in you.
And an essential part of that is self-control. This is one of the significant signs of being saved. The POWER of sin has been broken, and now, being free from sin, we choose not to sin.
This joyfully, lovingly choosing the important thing over the urgent thing is an aspect of the Holy Spirit’s fruit in your life.
You see, self-control in a Christian’s life is not reaching down deep inside and getting your own will-power. It’s not “getting your act together,” as they say. It’s a supernaturally natural response to God’s love and grace that have been shed abroad in your heart.
