Peter had to unlearn something that would keep him from carrying out the mission the Lord had for him to do, and keep him from the fullness of life that God had for him.
In this particular case, it was living out of tradition instead of God’s Word and God’s will.
It’s the same with us.
We can rock along in life doing our best to live a godly life, and then the Lord will show us something about ourselves that we hadn’t even been aware of.
Maybe His Word speaks to us about really forgiving, or showing us bitterness in our hearts we weren’t even aware of.

Pride

FEAR
LACK OF FAITH
An addiction
It may be something else.
If you are trying to walk with Him and please Him, He will show you where you need to grow.
And He does it not just to be bossy or pick on you. He does it because He loves you and has more real life for you than you were aware was even possible.
