1John 3:16-24
As I looked at 1John 3 this past week, something hit me. John is talking about the right now. He uses the present tense in talking about our relating to Jesus, and His abiding in us.
The Bible, and Christian experience both show us that the Christian life is a current, thing, happening in our lives today. Yes, we look back with gratitude and to help understand the present. Yes, we look forward with hope in our hearts for all that lies ahead for us with the Lord. But we don’t waste today.
And I’m afraid many do. I’m afraid many either live in the past, with mistakes and events holding them prisoner, and many others are just wishing and waiting their lives away, wasting the precious life that the Lord has given them today.
