There are many times we are disappointed in this world by empty promises. Jesus always keeps His word. He told His disciples He was going to be killed and rise again on the third day just as He began His final journey to Jerusalem. Knowing this, on Easter morning you would expect the disciples to be looking for an empty tomb and a Risen Lord. Instead, they were looking for His body. Why do you suppose that is so? On Easter morning we find three empty things that point to three promises that are found in different forms throughout the Bible. The empty Cross, the empty Tomb and the empty Grave Clothes all point to the promises of Forgiveness, Eternal Life and a Personal Relationship with Jesus that begins in this life and stretches on through eternity. These things have been promised, yet few really live like they believe these promises. Why do you think this is so? All this is explored in this Easter Sermon by Rev. Joel D. McMahon III.
