James 3:2-10
Do you remember what happened to Isaiah when he realized that his words had condemned him? An angel took a live coal with tongs from the altar of God and placed it on his lips and cleansed him.
Although we can never take back one hurtful, damaging word we have ever uttered, the Lord has cleansing for us as well.
Instead of an angel coming to us, The Lord Himself has come to us. And He hasn’t brought a live coal from the altar of God with tongs to cleanse us. Instead, He has brought His own blood, through the Cross, which is more powerful and cleansing than anything else in heaven or on earth.
So today, let us remember any condemning words we have uttered, confess them, and receive the Lord’s cleansing, and then resolve prayerfully from this moment on to watch our words.
