1 John 4:7-21

In his first epistle, John reminds us that the most imperative commands of God are to love Him and to love one another. If we say we love Him and are not truly loving those around us, we haven’t even begun our life in Christ. We’re lying to ourselves and others.
Many Christians today are walking in hate because they have never learned what hatred really is.
I discovered something this past week that I think really helps us understand what hatred of those around us is really like from a biblical perspective.
Since hate is the opposite of love, I just took 1 Corinthians 13 and reversed it!
As I share 1 Corinthians 13 and then in reverse in this message, I invite you to reflect on your own conduct in your homes, at school, at work, driving in the parking lot, and wherever else you make contact with other people.
So often, I think when people hear 1 Corinthians 13 defining love, they get a little warm fuzzy in their heart and think, “that’s so sweet,” and never consider it being a description of what their life should be like.
