Description

The woman described by many as “Louisville’s Conscience” died early this morning at the age of 85.

Suzy Post was the lone white plaintiff in Haycraft vs. Louisville Board of Education, which led to the historic court order to desegregate Jefferson county’s schools in 1975. When you study the history of school desegregation, equal housing, and women’s rights in Louisville – her name is front and center.

David Hawpe – the former editor of the Courier Journal and a friend of Suzy’s joins us now with a look at her legacy.
