Description

Our new podcast, Five Things, kicked off a few weeks back with musician and teacher Jecorey “1200” Arthur. We’re enjoying getting to know some interesting people through their choice of five physical objects that have been meaningful to their lives.

This week, host Tara Anderson speaks with Tori Murden McClure, the president of Spalding University. In Louisville, she may be best known for being the first woman to row alone across the Atlantic Ocean, a feat she wrote about in her book “A Pearl in the Storm.” She was also the first woman to ski to the South Pole. In this excerpt, she talks with Tara about one of her five things, which she acquired in Kenya.
