The thrill of working as a psychoanalyst wasn’t enough for Kaveh Zamanian.
A hobby in distilling led him to jump into the work of making liquor on a larger scale. Zamanian is founder of Rabbit Hole, a 35,000 square foot distillery that will include tours, tasting rooms and restaurant.
The space, in Louisville’s NuLu district, will open in 2017.
Zamanian came to this country from Iran when he was 14. His family settled in San Francisco and he eventually made his way to Southern California. His story of adjusting to life in the United States led him to a career in psychology.
Having roots in the Golden State led him to see the parallels between the wine industry in California and bourbon in Kentucky, which drew him to Louisville.
WFPL’s Roxanne Scott spoke with Zamanian in NuLu about how psychology has helped him in distilling.
