Description

For many, the idea of going into a store to rent a movie on the weekend is a thing of the past thanks to online streaming services like Netflix or Hulu.

But in Louisville’s Portland neighborhood, there’s a single remaining video rental shop that’s held on for 30 years -- and one of the keys to its survival has been the neighborhood’s spotty access to internet.

But as WFPL’s Ashlie Stevens reports, with Google Fiber coming into the neighborhood, Portland Video’s owner worries his store will become just a remnant of the past.
