Kentucky nurse practitioners are pushing to be allowed to prescribe more drugs without physician oversight. These advanced nursing have more schooling and are able to practice independently. Next week the House is likely to hear new legislation that would eventually allow advanced nurses to prescribe controlled substances - like opioids - without a doctor signup.
