When the temperature dips below 35 degrees, certain Louisville homeless shelters open their doors to anyone who needs a bed, regardless of space.
These are called White Flag nights.
This week, temperatures dropped below zero, which was also preceded by heavy snowfall.
WFPL asked Thompson Williams, who works as a monitor at Wayside Christian Mission to carry around a recorder and capture the sounds during a recent White Flag night.
