Bourbon is in the midst of a worldwide boom. But it's also a very white boom. In this special, WFPL's Roxanne Scott and Ashlie Stevens ask: where are all the black people among bourbon industry professionals and consumers?

To answer this question, we talked to historians, marketing professionals, and member of Louisville's black community. We also visited liquor stores and the start of the bourbon trail, and we explored a museum totally dedicated to bourbon.

We found that while bourbon can be a very white space, people of color are finding their own paths to enjoying "America's Native Spirit."

This is the latest installment of The Next Louisville, a partnership between 89.3 WFPL News and the Community Foundation of Louisville.
