Description

A letter-writing campaign was launched at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Louisville on Monday night. The goal: to get Kentuckians to send messages to their elected officials, urging them to make sure that the commonwealth remains a welcoming state for refugees.

The letters will be presented to state lawmakers on Refugee and Immigrant Day in February.

WFPL’s Roxanne Scott visited the church on Bardstown Road and asked some of the children present to read from their letters.

Here’s what they had to say.
