As President-elect Donald Trump assembles his cabinet, many Democrats are still trying to make sense of his election and overwhelming electoral college win. But for Trump supporters, these are lighter days – of celebration and reflection.
Jeff Klusmeier is head of the Louisville chapter of Young Professionals for Trump and one of the president-elect’s top supporters in the city. We’ve been talking with him over the past several months to get a sense of what he’s been hearing and feeling about the presidential election.
WFPL’s Stephen George reached Klusmeier this week in Florida, where the political consultant is taking a working vacation and trying to decompress from the election.
They talked about the transition so far, Trump’s appeal to Democrats, and how the president-elect could help push back against white nationalists who are emboldened since his election.
