In each episode of Unbound, we hear stories from two different authors on a theme. Today’s episode is about car trouble. Americans love their cars—the romance of the open road and the freedom to go any direction we can point our wheels. Unfortunately, they don’t always take us where we want to go. We'll hear Frank Bill reading his story "Life of Salvage," about a couple of Southern Indiana scrap metal traders whose ride breaks down on their way to the salvage lot. Then we'll travel to a roadside gas station where a newly-single guy with little but a car to his name sees a woman—is she drugged? is she okay?—in a strange traveler's back seat. That's Jamieson Ridenhour's "Grand Prix."
