University of Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich confirmed yesterday (Wed) that former Wake Forest assistant football coach-turned-broadcaster Tommy Elrod did share "a few plays" with a Cardinals assistant before the teams played last month.
Wake Forest conducted a nearly month-long internal investigation into potential leaks after documents related to the team's game plan were found at Papa John’s Cardinal stadium.
Wake Forest fired Elrod on Tuesday.
Elrod and U of L assistant coach Lonnie Galloway had earlier worked together at Wake Forest. Jurich says none of the shared plays were used in the November 12th game, which the Cardinals won, 44 to 12.
Sean Beuter (BEE-ter) covers the Wake Forest program for WFDD radio at the university.
He spoke with WFPL’s Rick Howlett about the investigation, which he says was first announced by Wake Forest coach Dave Clawson the week after the game.
