For decades, E.J. Dionne has been one of the most prominent journalists and left-leaning political commentators in the U.S.
His latest book is called “Why the Right Went Wrong: Conservatism from Goldwater to the Tea Party and Beyond.”
In a conversation with WFPL’s Stephen George, Dionne explained his theory that ever since Barry Goldwater, conservative politicians have had to make promises while campaigning that they could never keep in office.
Dionne will be in Louisville on Wednesday, Feb. 24, for the University of Louisville Kentucky Author Forum, where he will be interviewed by journalist James Fallows. The event is at 6 p.m. at the Kentucky Center.
