Sweet Abyss resident Malzof has been DJing for a decade, playing their own signature style of transgender dance music. As a life-long music collector, their sound archives go deep. Heavily influenced by IDM, Ambient, experimental music, breaks, sampling, and dance music of all kinds, they are not afraid to make it blend. They see DJing as an extension of all the work they do- to bring people together, to encourage moments of release and joy, and to support people in showing up in their true expressions as resistance against hegemony.
You may have heard Malzof play a freaky downtempo set at last year's Sploosh alongside Yessi, or perhaps somewhere across the region - from just about everywhere in Pittsburgh to Philly, NYC, Ithaca, Rochester, Montreal, Detroit or on your radio waves across the world. Malzof brings their creative vision and multimedia art practice into the ways they share sound.
