We start off somehow talking about the German Bundesliga. At (8:45) we are joined by our good friend and Executive Director of the Thurgood Marshall Academy Raymond Weeden. We start off asking if Raymond listens to PTN and (spoiler) discuss a little bit about the episode he heard. At (11:55) we lean on Raymonds experience in the education world and ask if school will ever return to normal, and then get some insight into a variety of concerns that the education community has faced during the pandemic. At (17:05) we ask for Raymond to recall his reaction to the Ahmaud Arbery murder and then share some of his own thoughts and relatable experiences as a black runner. At (26:40) we talk about the running communities response and then ask Raymond to solve the worlds problems in 3 minutes or less. At (31:48) Raymond talks about how these incidents have affected his family and how this might influence him as an educator. At (40:45) we check in on Raymonds current running. We are back at (44:33) to wrap up the interview and tell the story that Raymond brought up about about Farleys dog bite in college. At (52:30) we talk about some running bits in the news, starting off with the slow mile and highlighting Molly Seidels video, at (58:05) Nick Simmons bionic legs record mile attempt and at (59:17) Dylan Sorensen sets the world record dribbling a basketball for a mile on the track. At (1:03:42) we talk about Toronto closing off 57km of road for biking and running.
