Description

The BBC created a documentary on how young Christians are using rap and drill music to lure gang members away from the streets and towards God.

It followed a young brother who was recently made a pastor at 21 and his story of salvation and now ordination.
While that's incredibly great and such an inspiring story is told it also presented a view of one of the fastest growing youth focused christian movements that wass somewhat controversial especially in terms of doctrine and culture.

This was our first ever episode where we all had the documentary and had to prepare our responses on it (hopefully that showed) we had a greate and edifying conversation abotu our thoughts on the biblical validity of some of the practices that were highlighted by the documentary and inorder to ensure we presented a fully fleshed out representation of our thoughts we actually did this episode in two parts and for the first time in Furnace history we're bringing a double episode.

This is part 1 and mostly focuses on the music culture and drill rap and it's use in the church.

inside joke (you'll get it once you've listened; might wanna wear a balaclava for this one!!)

Just one more thing before I go we had an incredible special guest in Ade, from my days back in Queen Mary University, who brought a uniquely gracious respective to the furnace massive thanks to him for travelling down for this one!!
