This year’s Ghost Ship party was one of the better SF parties I’ve ever been involved with. When I took over the decks at 4am, the main floor was packed with screaming, bouncing, costumed silliness, and the energy was infectious. At one point I remember there being a row of self-appointed go-go dancers, dancing on the stage in front of me – until security shooed them off. Since I was closing out the room, and wanted to keep the crowd on the floor, I kept the music fun, rather than dark and bangin’. I played an eclectic mix of house, breaks and electro, including some original songs that that my partner Chad and have done. Before I knew it, it was 4:50am and security guy was there again, giving me the ‘cut-it’ sign. I reluctantly lowered the fader, thanked the crowd, and the party was over. I hope the live energy and fun of this set comes through in the recording, and please excuse the few, of less-than-perfect mixes. - Aaron Pope
