Break Wind Productions 66th release we travel to china but not as we know it.
Comprising of an underground electronic music producer, occasional DJ and noted sinophile Aaron Duff (A-DUFF) as well as two classically trained Chinese Australian musicians in David Dai and KangKang Huang, the Chinese Electronic Music Project seeks to combine traditional Chinese music with Western style electronic music in a way that has never been done before.
From the bilingual chatter of the members working it out in the studio, to the mid-session lunch of dumplings and cola, there is something special in how Chinese Electronic Music Project goes about creating their unique sound combining live recording sessions of erhu, guzheng and other traditional instruments with lush, melodic breakbeats and breakdowns.
