Description

16 year Kennedy Opie and his Dad Fred Opie have experience with mental health. Kennedy's therapist asked him to interview his father starting with the question what's it like to be an African American man in the United States? From there the conversation covered topics such as depression, what it was like being one of the only black lacrosse players throughout his father’s playing career in high school, college, and a member of a US national team. This is a deep and personal dive into Race, Masculinity, and Mental Health with suggestions for elected officials, parents, and coaches.
