Description

In this interview, Professor John Eastman, the Henry Salvatori Professor of Law & Community Service at Chapman University and 2020-2021 Visiting Scholar in Conservative Thought and Policy at CU Boulder, discusses his controversial op-ed published in Newsweek in August 2020 and the reactions to it. The op-ed speaks of the eligibility of the then US Vice Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris as a natural-born citizen, a requirement for both the US Presidency and Vice Presidency. Professor Eastman also discusses his broader work with the US Supreme Court on the 14th Amendment's interpretation, his time at CU Boulder as a part of the Bruce D. Benson Center for the Study of Western Civilization, and offers an open, public airing on the issue.
