### Brian's Journey Through Country Music: A 1994 Flashback
By 1994, Brian was truly making waves in the country music scene. With his hit album "Made in the Shade" still climbing the charts a year after its release, and fresh off receiving his second "Performer of the Year" award, it was clear that he was becoming a household name. Not only was he thriving in the United States, but he had also just wrapped up his third USO worldwide tour. This time, he shared the stage with big names like Johnny Paycheck, Joe Diffie, and Dwight Yoakam. Their memorable 1994 performance in San Francisco even laid the groundwork for what would later become the beloved "Dwight Live" album.
The excitement didn’t stop there, as Frankfurt, Germany, served as the launch pad for the European leg of his tour. It was here that Brian joined forces with Dwight’s band, which featured the legendary Doyle Holly, and an impromptu recording session took place with the talented Thomas Schmitt-Zijnen. “It was actually more of a drinking session,” Brian chuckled while reminiscing. “The takes got worse and worse as the night progressed, and we finally gave up or passed out around dawn.”
Interestingly enough, this little adventure led to a recording of their rendition of "Fast as You.” However, the tune never saw the light of day and remained tucked away, gathering dust in a box in Brian’s basement for years. Fast forward to 2025, when Brian decided to unearth those raw tracks, diving into the restoration and mastering process for an exclusive release on the much-anticipated "Anthology 2025" album. A long-overdue revival, this release is bound to bring a smile to the faces of old fans and new listeners alike!
