Influenced by their surrounding culture, the Zoramites seem to have adopted a false sacrifice as a substitute for the Atonement, perhaps going so far as bloodletting and human sacrifice. Just as cultural factors had enticed the Zoramites to pervert the ways of the Lord, so may social trends today entice us to skew true gospel principles to fit fashionable ideologies.
