Barcelona-based Indigo Raw boss Mirus joins the Rhythm Cult family with an accomplished EP bound to circulate on discerning dancefloors. An integral part of Barcelona’s rich electronic music scene, he has become known for his diverse crate-digging skills, event curation and his evolution as a producer. Here he brings his skills for the first time to Rhythm Cult with this sublime EP of intelligent deep house music.
The EP starts with the aptly titled ‘Into the Mystery’, with its brooding detuned house atmospherics and delicate 808 rhythms. ‘Asane’ takes us deeper as we dive into a world of micro-percussion and polyrhythms and found sounds illuminated intermittently by lush ethereal chords. ‘Hologram’ rounds things off and ups the intensity with its tightly programmed electro beats. The swirling dark haze of synths and sounds latch to a solid house rhythm for the final rousing outro. This is textured, nuanced house music that takes its cues from soundtracks and ambience then brings them straight to the modern dancefloor.
