Children are often treated as a distraction; Jesus calls them an icon. Bringing children to Jesus brings us to Jesus. He's not skeptical of their faith, he's skeptical of the disciples' faith. He calls his followers to give their lives for the next generation of disciples. Being present with kids is hard work where we have to lead them into the kingdom, but then all of a sudden we experience a moment of wonder where they lead us into the kingdom.
