Episode 1

Introduction to the podcast. Catherine and Petia discuss with the other two podcast episode hosts, Dr Jeanette Sakel (Director of Student Experience, Faculty of Arts, Cultural Industries and Education, UWE Bristol) and Dr Emma Weitkamp (Co-Director of the Science Communications Unit, UWE Bristol) , what their own perspectives are on research informing teaching.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The aim of this podcast is to explore the notion of research-informed teaching in higher education, both from a practical and theoretical point of view. The episodes bring together a range of academics and graduates to discuss what research-informed teaching means to them, why they think it is important and how we can truly bring research and teaching together so that they are mutually beneficial rather than in tension.
The podcast is brought together by Professor Catherine Hobbs, Associate Dean for Research in the Faculty of Environment and Technology, UWE Bristol, and Dr Petia Petrova, Associate Director of Academic Practice at UWE Bristol, who provide brief reflections on each episode to introduce them.
