"I often just sit down with the intention of 'writing' an [audio] track. When I experience no inspiration, or have no idea for a concept of an original recording, I usually turn to the Diquiet Junto prompt of the week to set-out to compose one.
This week was no different:
I read the disquiet prompt -- 'record a simple track at 60 BPM in 4/4 that will be reworked subsequently by other musicians' -- Sunday evening, and started that minute. I worked seven straight hours on it without getting out of My seat.
I set-out to create something simple, tonally, and mode- and key-wise, and something that did not have a bunch of changes or sections, that COULD be easily reworked into a more, highly complex piece.
Recording a lone, aggressive, staccatto, string patch and looping it led Me to recording another variation with slight percussion, and then I just added a long, time-expanded bed of a violin being tuned judiciously in sections.
I added a 'head' [introduction] and a 'tail' [cadence], and that was it.
Here is, ' ... to the Beach, Asunder.'"
