Description

jhaffur khan azad darakth: lyrics and voice, percussion, piano and silver flute
Joel Banner Baird: acoustic bass, electric guitar, slide guitar
Humid trees breathing out air sense
Thicker than buttered drops on thought patents
The rain gone, the air still greenly latent
I’m saturating serenely in layers of oxy-content.

The soil pores, still barely sated, strain
To suck the air force into continued rain
Caught between these elemental resources
I feel twin vacuums charioting their horses.

Leaves pant with frustrated exasperation
Struggling to balance absorption with evaporation
Even the owl is off his game and fails to call at dusk
The thunderstorm’s too short – fruit wrinkled in the husk.

Still, the sky is electrical, coiled and charged
Potential will revealed vitality regained, enlarged
This sudden dampness these thunderous shouts
Heroic local efforts to combat my internal drought.
