Just flown in on the easterlies
he was blearily
too whimbrel for avocets
Marsupial in all her ovaries
she was clearly
too timbral for marmosets
So they fought the times together
Battling the prevailing weather
finding that their fur and feather
with wing and paws for dry and wet
Showed them really rather well met.
He flew across his southern seas
She nurtured pouch and gum-nut knees
They were neither that nor this
And therefore neither hers nor his
Not quite marmot nor ever marmoset
Definitely more whimbrel than any avocet.
