Craft doesn't always pay.

Reconsider what "success" means. Financial success is typically the emphasis of our society, but it is not the only (or even the best) type of success. Yes, the craftsman may need to downsize his living quarters. However, he can take solace in the fact that most entrepreneurs eventually become tired of their firms, and some even feel trapped by them.
