Color can create a visual that alleviates stress.

In this Paint Ed episode, Torlando Hakes talks with Lynsey and Sarah from PPG. They discuss, the benefit of making trauma-informed design decisions and dig deep into trauma and color therapy. Lynsey shares that color therapy greatly impacts individuals who have undergone traumatic experiences.

Sarah Gomez, who has a psychology degree, says understanding what people are going through can be beneficial to everyday day business decisions.

Lynsey adds, as a contractor you can give back by leveraging elements such as the color scheme to create trauma-informed spaces.

Sarah suggests creating a place that provides a sense of calm using biophilic design. For example, adding a soft pink color, natural lighting, and the sound of a waterfall can make a huge difference!
