(MAY 6, 2019) Gas prices are going up.

Gas is $2.89 per gallon around the country. But prices are higher in Oregon. Gas here is $3.41.

Last month, gas was $3.05. Last year, it was $3.20. The highest price was $4.29 in 2008.

Prices increase for different reasons. The government has new rules about oil from other countries. Also oil companies do not make gas in Oregon. Gas comes from other states. It is expensive to move.

Gas prices now are:

California $4.08
Hawaii $3.63
Washington $3.51
Nevada $3.44
Oregon $3.41
Alaska $3.37
Arizona $3.13
Pennsylvania $3.06
Idaho $3.05
Connecticut $3.00
