The 7 churches of Revelation were historical churches who needed to hear a personal message from the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. He greets them uniquely, renders a penetrating analysis, and gives them an exhortation and a benediction. We too need the Lord of glory to search our hearts through these truths.
