Paul and John the Baptist had in common a realisation that Jesus is God. The twelve men mentioned in this passage needed to understand this. Like them, without the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, there will always be something missing from our lives. //

Though the men had to some extent repented, they had not yet turned to Christ – which is necessary for salvation and transformation. The authenticity of their salvation could only be demonstrated by receiving the Holy Spirit – as we must. //

Be filled with the Spirit. Let your life‘s purpose be glorifying Jesus.
