God made man to rule over creation; in failing to rule themselves first, they undermined God’s purpose for them. //

This is an inspired passage of scripture. Whatever our supposed learning may tell us, the New Testament writers took this story to be literal. And so should we; in so doing we open ourselves to accepting the full implications of the story of the serpent’s deceit.
