The summer of 2016 saw Mark & Zash lock horns for their first collaboration. They return here, making their Pro B Tech debut, with it’s successor.
‘Condor’, like it’s antecedent, is ably supported by a Dav Power remix.
Scrutiny of the original version highlights the creativity of this conglomerate, a track which fuses skippy, infectious drum rhythms with a brooding, understated and subversive underbelly, oozing class. While there are musings of melody, an overarching depth and resistance to veer into overtly melodic territory shows a restraint only found in an advance production outfit, sanguine in their wares.
Dav Power, from whom a steady and consistently high quality stream of releases has been administered in the previous twelve months, dons his remix hat once again for the duo (having been responsible for the effective reworking of the aforementioned, ‘Halo’).
Power brings a little more musicality to the bass line while retaining the functional, warm-up-the-floor elements of the original. It’s rhythmic repetitions are nothing short of irresistible, with no stone left unturned in the curation of this triumph of a reinterpretation.
Please enjoy.
