Ahead of Press Freedom Day, ICIJ's Meet the Investigators podcast spoke with Maria Ressa, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Filipino journalist who co-founded Rappler, an online news site in the Philippines. In recent years, Ressa and Rappler have become the targets of numerous legal actions and threats from the Philippines’ President Rodrigo Duterte and his administration. She has maintained her innocence and continues to fight back.
Maria’s new book “How to Stand Up to a Dictator: The Fight for Our Future” is scheduled to be published in the fall of 2022.
