Tribute to NYC based 'underground disco' super-producer Patrick Adams. His bio is impressive…and spans from playing, songwriting, producing, arranging, engineering… to managing and running labels.
Adams got his start in music… up in Harlem. In the E70s after his success with managing and producing the band Black Ivory, he landed a job at Today records. By the time he left Perception in ‘74 he was one of the mainstays of the New York recording scene. In the M70s…he made quick transition into disco and boogie. B/W ‘77 and ‘82 he made more than 20 projects for Prelude records and other labels.
During that time, Patrick Adams really shined in the releases he made for now legendary and highly collectable P&P label which was owned by NYC based record promoter Peter Brown. At P&P, Adams started creating a proto-house music that he called “underground disco”....he had int’l success with the bands Cloud One and Universal Robot Band….which are highly collectable.
After the end of the disco era, Adams continued producing boogie-funk acts and started working behind-the-scenes with the rising stars of New York’s hip-hop scene.
It is all vinyl dance-floor filler show… so turn the volume up and enjoy it...
Cheers...
George
