On Friday, May 11, the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation hosted a Community Speaker Series event titled, “From Online Patient Communities to OpenNotes: How Can Transparency and Technology Improve our Health?” Elena Fagotto, Transparency Policy Project Director of Research, Ash Center; Archon Fung, Harvard Kennedy School Academic Dean, Winthrop Laflin McCormack Professor of Citizenship and Self-Government; and Jan Walker, Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Research Faculty in the Division of General Medicine and Primary Care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Co-Founder of OpenNotes, discussed using technology to enable better transparency in patient health data.
